First off, we hope you are having a lovely Thanksgiving weekend! We are sure thankful for Brie, one of our massage therapists here at Propel.⁠
⁠
Brie has a real passion for massage therapy, health, and wellness, with many years of experience in her field. Her clients are always repeat customers and will tell you that she has an especially caring and professional presence, and will customize each treatment to their specific needs at every visit. Brie says she loves what she does because of the ability to help people in a one-on-one environment, and loves helping her clients achieve their wellness goals while empowering them to take control of their health. If she’s not massaging clients at Propel, you can usually find her playing indoor and outdoor volleyball (no surprise with that height!), or doing CrossFit workouts, running, golfing, and skiing. She also loves hanging out with her husband and two young children at all the different lakes in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. ⁠

Brie graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a BSc. in Kinesiology. She is an Advanced Registered Massage Therapist with the Natural Health Practitioners of Alberta after graduating from the Massage Therapy College of Manitoba.⁠

Meet Kevin Masters! The original Kevin here at Propel Performance Institute is originally from Calgary (we know, we know, we won’t hold it against him.) He’s the kind of trainer who’s here to make you feel good, not to push you beyond your means (but he WILL make you sweat and test what you think your limits are). He’s always got a snappy playlist that will have you singing along, even when the struggle is real. When he’s not working with clients, he loves running up mountains, biking, camping, strength training, reading, and fishing/hiking with his wife, two sons, and dog. ⁠

Kevin has a BSc in Kinesiology from the University of Calgary, and is always learning new and different training methods and techniques - he himself will tell you that he’s a jack of all trades but a master at none. Humility at its finest!⁠

You asked, and we delivered! We are now offering an increased group class schedule starting October 4th. With classes scheduled from Monday-Thursday and Saturdays, you'll have plenty of options to commit to your weekly classes with us. ⁠

With this schedule change, we are also changing our group class pricing options. Starting October 4th, class passes can only be purchased on a monthly subscription basis rather than our previously used 5 and 10 packs. ⁠

We know (and you do too) that an increased level of commitment to a workout program will increase results, so we want to encourage weekly commitment of our clients by switching to this new pricing option. Our classes will now follow a progressive program, where we test certain strength and conditioning parameters before and after so you can see our program working. ⁠

Please note, that with this program, your existing class passes will become inactive as of September 30th until you decide what level of commitment you want to pursue, at which time a discount of the credits you had previously will be applied. ⁠

She’s worked with teams in many different sports, which has helped develop her treatment approach to prioritize longevity and optimal performance in athletes. She’s not a one trick pony though, as she’s well rounded from experience working with neurological, paediatric, and orthopaedic populations. She has a Black Belt in martial arts, and enjoys an array of physical activity to keep her mind and body busy.⁠

Kevin, AKA Hurdler, is our newest Performance Coach. He’s a highly accomplished track and field star, currently competing in high level hurdling. His philosophy in training is that the biggest advantage any person or athlete can have is mental, and that change must first be initiated in the mind before it becomes a reality. It’s because of this that his training is next level, and he is absolutely fascinating to watch in action. He loves listening to podcasts, reading, blogging/writing, and - fun fact - has a twin brother! Our vestibular system of our inner ear senses the position of our head and sends signals to our brain accordingly. Our brain then utilizes this information to maintain balance, orientation, and the ability to see clearly when we move. ⁠

Have you been to one of our physiotherapists, been prescribed exercises to do at home, but need a bit of extra guidance in your recovery? ⁠

We have now added supervised training sessions on our gym side! These will be sessions where you can book in to our facility at certain times (our lovely receptionists can book you in after your next physiotherapy visit if you are interested) and perform your exercises either on your own, or with the guidance of a kinesiologist or performance coach. This is a low cost option exclusively for our current physiotherapy patients. We hope this will help to keep you on the right track with your rehabilitation, especially if you struggle to adhere to your prescribed exercise program at home or to make sure you are performing your exercises correctly. ⁠
