Our Physiotherapists Team Member,
Alyda Bauhuis
Physiotherapist
BScKin, MScPT
Alyda got her start at just 15 years of age working as an athletic trainer, so you could say that the Physio life was the life for her! She’s already worked with numerous varsity and community teams, including football, soccer, rowing, track and field, and basketball. In doing so, she developed a strong passion for working with athletic populations and has tailored her treatment approach to prioritize longevity and optimal performance in athletes. She also has experience working with neurological populations, pediatric populations, and a wide variety of orthopedic populations – so she is definitely well rounded and there’s not a lot that she can’t do! When she was younger, she was involved in competitive martial arts, earning a Black Belt at 13 years old, and continuing to train until she started university. Once there, she discovered a love for weight lifting, yoga, and all kinds of outdoor adventures! She uses her active lifestyle approach and incorporates it into her treatment sessions, hoping to inspire others to get moving. In any spare time she has, you’ll find her at the gym, watching hockey, exploring the outdoors, or experimenting in the kitchen!
Alyda obtained a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology minoring in Anthropology from the University of Victoria, followed by graduating from the University of Alberta with her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy.
